leslie & warren: married | edmonton wedding photographer

So I’ve come to admit something to myself~ I’m not good at cutting things down to a small, manageable size.  One look at my over-stuffed closet, and this should come as no surprise!  Well when it comes to blogging, it’s the same problem.  For the life of me, I just could NOT cut down my favorites from Leslie & Warren’s wedding anymore than this– so prepare for a giant (albeit lovely!) blog post.  Grab a coffee, sit back and enjoy some major eye candy!

I just love Leslie and Warren.  No, really– I love them!  From the very beginning when we shot their engagement session, to their perfect wedding day, they were always sooo relaxed and just brought their honest love and warmth for each other to the table.  A moment that really stands out was when after their ceremony I said to Leslie, “Geez you’re so relaxed!  You never seem nervous or anxious”  and she replied simply and with so much sincerity,  “When you know, you just know.”   This struck me so much, because at the end of the day, all I want to do as a wedding photographer, is capture love.   Love as they get ready to walk down the aisle… love as they declare their vows to each other… love as they walk through romantic fields or cuddle in a tree… love as they take their first dance together as husband and wife…  I know it’s so cliché– but it’s truly what feeds my passion to create beautiful photos for them.

Also, they chose a bunch of our favorite vendors and venues in Edmonton, so they really were a dream couple!  SO happy they chose us too 😉  Here’s some of my favorites from their day~

My favorite church~  St. Joseph’s Basilica.  Simply stunning.

sigh, you guys are so stinkin’ gorgeous and lovely together.  If it weren’t for the rain, I couldn’t just kept shooting and shooting!

The rain forced us to flee, but with our awesome luck, it stopped raining once we got to the Art Gallery– nice!

I was so excited to hear that they had hired the always awesome Jennifer Bergman as their planner.  Jennifer’s weddings are impeccably gorgeous and always run so smoothly.   I loved the fresh, modern colors and theme.  Janine at FaBLOOMosity also did such a great job with the unique floral work!

This day didn’t just marry 2 lovely people, but also their unique cultures.  Warren is Chinese and Leslie is Métis, and both their cultures were honoured very beautifully at the reception at the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Special thanks to all the great vendors involved:
