Tamara & Phil: Married | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

It’s been a busy time for me personally so I do apologize for the lack of blog posts as of late- I’ve got so many gorgeous weddings and sessions to share from this past year and I promise to try and get them up now that I’m all settled again.  Up first is Tamara & Phil’s beautiful wedding from this summer, which was also featured in the Spring/Summer issue of Blush Magazine.

As Tamara tells it, she knew Phil was “the one” the first time she met him.  And during a Mediterranean cruise, Phil fulfilled his long-time desire to take Tamara to Croatia to share his heritage, but also surprised her with a  romantic proposal overlooking the sea.  Their wedding day was equally dripping with romance and beauty– from the pretty pink theme, to Tamara’s drool-worthy Louboutins, to all the sparkling and dramatic details of their reception.  Along with their stunning and lovely bridal party, we had so much fun toasting to the relaxed and adorable couple.  We also had a lot of fun with some pretty balloons that I think so perfectly conveyed the prevailing theme of the day:  LOVE.  Here’s to that being the theme for the rest of their lives together!

Thanks to all the great vendors that helped bring Tamara & Phil’s vision to life:

Ceremony venue:  St. Albert Catholic Parish

Reception venue:  Meridian Banquets

Design & Decor Coordinator:  A Chair to Remember

Cake:  Over the Top Cakes

Dessert-Styling:  Candy Bar

Floral Design:  Azalea Azoreana

Bridal Gown Boutique:  Pure Bridal  Designer: Essence of Australia

Bridesmaids Boutique: David’s Bridal– White by Vera Wang

Groom’s Formal:  Harry Rosen– J.P. Tilford Custom Suit

Hair Stylist:  Stylebar by Sonia Sajnani

Tamara & Phil- Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your beautiful day!  It was a joy to witness your love for each other, and for your friends and family.  Can’t wait to see some gorrrrgeous babies hopefully soon!!  😉

And special thanks to my second shooter for the day- Miranda Wensel!  Love you girl!

XOXO

Pamela & Wade: Married | Edmonton Wedding Photographer

My favourite thing about shooting weddings- without a doubt- is getting to experience all the different ways couples choose to celebrate their day, and to be a witness to how each couple chooses to honour their love for each other.   From big, lavish weddings, to intimate family affairs, to private destination elopements– I love that a couples’ wedding is such a special and unique day for them.  Pamela and Wade chose to keep theirs very simple and intimate– just them, their witnesses, and me!  I was so honoured.    The day consisted of some “getting ready” time at The Union Bank Inn, followed by a “First Look”, then a beautifully simple ceremony outside in front of The Hotel MacDonald (a first for me!), and then a few hours for photos all over the hotel (we pretty much had free reign of the place since their wedding was also held on a week day).  With no strict timelines to stick to and no hustle and bustle of guests, we were really able to breathe it all in and be in the moment.  It was all about them… and I must admit, selfishly, I was thrilled to have so much time to just run around taking tons and tons of photos!   Here’s some of my favourites from their perfect, perfect wedding day~

Pamela wanted an overall vintage vibe for her wedding and her retro Michelle Roth dress was the perfect fit!  She originally had purchased a different dress locally, but couldn’t get her mind off of a dress she had seen once online a few years back.  With a lot of looking and a little bit of luck, she managed to find one second hand in Pennsylvania (the dress was no longer in production).  Her hair clip and birdcage veil were her “something borrowed”, as they were previously worn by her maid of honour at her wedding.  I love it when old things are made new again!

Pamela & Wade~ Thank you for choosing me to be a part of your very intimate and genuinely heartfelt wedding.  I was so honoured to be able to help capture it for you and I hope you’ll feel like you’ll always have these photos to bring you right back to that day.

XOXO,
