trick or treat

So we just shot our last wedding of the year on Saturday, and although I’d hardly say things are “slowing down” around here with the piles of editing I have to do… at least the hectic shooting schedule is not so nutso.  The best thing about that for me is that I can spend a bit more time with my little kiddos and take lots and lots of pictures of them (since they’re always my number 1 inspiration!)

Anyone who knows my family, knows that we are humungous nerds when it comes to our enthusiasm to dress up.  Theme parties are a common thing in our household and needless to say, Halloween is always a big deal.  We had SO much fun this year baking treats, going to Halloween parties and taking them trick or treating.  Now I’ve gotta start thinking about costume ideas for next year- ha!

The chill in the air these days is getting colder and colder and I know that snowfall is just around the corner for us here in Edmonton.  So, we headed out a couple nights ago for some pictures with the kids.  They’re getting so big so fast (I say that only in reference to their age and maturity, as it’s clear my kids are teeny tiny in stature- haha!) Hope you’re all enjoying lots of warm pumpkin spice lattes and the last days of fall~

Aaliyah and Kai’s cousins were along for some pictures too.  These 4 are absolutely hysterical together and it’s getting harder and harder to keep up with them!  Talk about a quick trigger finger being necessary 😉

melissa beautiful family!

Today and every day, I’m thankful for the embarrassment of riches that is my life.  I get to wake up each morning to my best friend and husband who I’ve spent the last 13 amazing years with.  I’m spoiled with love from my beautiful, healthy and happy kids, Aaliyah & Kai.  And to top it off, I get to do a job that leaves me perpetually inspired.

There’s so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and I hope you’re all spending it surrounded by those you love.  We’re hosting the big dinner at our house today– turkey, stuffing (my favorite!!), mashed potatoes… the works!  …followed by an inevitable sleep coma for everyone and then lots of boardgames.  Oh yes, this truly is the sweet life  ; )

How did you spend your Thanksgiving weekend?  We’d love to hear about it so leave us a comment : )

Happiest Thanksgiving wishes to all the Gills in Edmonton! I miss you all incredibly everyday (even though we don’t talk often, a part of my mind and heart is always thinking of you all!) summer from my iPhone

Summer’s over and I’ll cry if I want to! 😉  Here’s some snapshots taken from my iPhone~ they make me happy and I’ll have to remember to look at them often when I’m freezing, miserable and hibernating this winter.  OK now bring on the turkey dinners!!!

Special thanks to the late Mr. Steve Jobs~ you’ve revolutionized the world and changed the way we do everything.  R.I.P.
