davina & brian: married

If it was one thing I knew,  this wedding was going to ooze style, elegance and heart.  I looked forward to it since the day Davina & Brian booked us way back when and it certainly surpassed every expectation I had.  These two have gone through a lot to be together including a couple moves back and forth from Vancouver, which is where we shot their awesome e-session in December.  That session gave us a glimpse into how fabulously they were going to ‘work it’ for their wedding pics and work it they did!!  Throughout the day, Cheryl and I felt like we were photographing 2 models for a fashion spread… the only giveaway that it was an actual wedding was how obviously in love they were.  You’d think that amongst all the craziness it’d be hard to get lost in the romance of what this day really means, but Davina & Brian really seemed to have eyes only for each other and it truly touched my heart.  They were so sweet and affectionate that it inspired us shot after shot ~and what we ended up with was some real photo magic (a ton of it!)

Here’s where I throw in my disclaimer: it was really too hard to narrow the pics down so today’s post is super-sized 😉  Happy Friday!

Davina had –count ’em– 5 stunning dresses!  Each was more gorgeous than the next.  After I saw these I immediately called to interrogate my husband on why I was only allowed one dress 😉

I love this photo so much.  Pure beauty.

Not sure if you noticed, but Brian’s a pretty handsome fella.

Oh be still my heart… Davina you are so gorgeous it hurts my eyes.

I don’t like to use this word because it gets so over-used all the time… but it’s really the only word to describe this shot:  epic. so epic.

It was kind of perfect how we happened along this cute little fruit stand.  Thanks to the owner who let us have free reign over it.  Nothing says ‘summer wedding’ better than this!

Then we finished off the shoot at the place where it all began–  Davina & Brian met in this parking lot and well, the rest is history.

We got to go a little “ring crazy” with all the pretty little details all over the place.

Davina & Brian~  thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us to be a part of your most cherished memories ever, and for treating us like family every step of the way.  Now that both the weddings are over though, I’m afraid I’m going to have to fast track my plan on how to get your parents to “adopt” me 😉

Lots of Love,

August 4, 2010 - 11:14 pm

uncle Bill Needless to say, Davina is always the center stage and without an element of doubt, one of the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Yet, on second glance, Brian is also a very very handsome too, they are indeed, a perfect match and heavenly made couple.

By the way, the picure of ‘zipping up’ the gown was sexy. I don’t think any human being on earth would refuse to give out a helping hand.

Last but not least, it is never too late for blessings. So, it is from uncle Bill to say a big “Congratulations” Davina and Brian.

chelsea & ryan: expecting

As if just looking at these two didn’t make them cute enough ~ they go and tell me they’re high school sweethearts to boot!  Chelsea & Ryan also warned me that they have the worst luck with photos, as they got rained out for both their engagement and wedding photos.  It didn’t help their streak when we had to reschedule their maternity session due to crazy thunder showers!  But finally, their day came, the stars aligned and we got the most amazing light in a location just about as cute as they are 😉

Oh, and if you hadn’t noticed, pregnancy looks kind of amazing on Chelsea!

Thanks you two for making me almost want to be pregnant again.  almost. 😉

the chen family

It’s no secret that Cheryl and I love kids.  Maybe it’s their sweet innocence, or their carefree abandon… or maybe it’s just that they seem to enjoy watching us jump around like crazy lunatics to get them to smile.   That makes us happy.  😉  During their family shoot, we got to spend some good ol’ quality time with the Chen family in their gorgeous backyard (which is about the size of a small park!) They were fun & playful and not opposed to gettin’ down and dirty on the grass for the cause!

When booking us for this shoot, Annie sent me the only photo she had of all 4 of them together  ~it was a blurry snapshot that featured a sticker on poor Annie’s face courtesy of her daughter who insisted it be there! haha!  Well Annie, now you have many lovely shots of your adorable family and I hope they’re everything you were hoping for!

Thanks to the Chens for the wonderful evening and their warm hospitality!

miranda & joe: married sneak peek

Sometimes I actually find myself stunned to be able to do what I do for a living.  One of those times was last Saturday after I left Miranda & Joe’s heartfelt wedding.  The amount of love we witnessed and received from everyone was so moving that I really do wonder if I should call and invite myself to their next big family dinner since I am practically family now… right?  …guys?? 😉  Seriously, love you all!  Here’s some teasers from their lovely day.

*Miranda’s amazing makeup courtesy of Susan Gill.  Message me if you’d like to get her digits 😉

young hearts run free

During my vacation time in Vancouver recently Cheryl and I decided to attempt the unthinkable:  3 mini family sessions at the same time!!! (photographers reading this know that this has disaster written all over it! ha!) But it’s not very often we’re able to get our own family pictures done, so being the ever-so-efficient asians that we are it was a challenge we braved.  Good friends Punit & Nina and their little girl Saiyrah rounded out our little circus (yes, “circus” would be the appropriate word here!) It was hardly an easy day in the park, but in the end we declared the crazy and chaotic session a success!

These pictures warm my heart~ so many people I love all together!  Here’s to friends & family above all else.
