vancouver bound

Just dropping in with a quick note to let you all know that I’m packing up the family and heading to Vancouver for a much-needed 10 day “vacation”… I’m using the term vacation loosely though considering we’ve also booked in a bunch of work too (isn’t that just typical?) I’m still super pumped though to be able to get away for a bit with the hubby and enjoy our two kids in our old hometown~ and Cheryl and I are looking forward to spending more than 2 days together so we can chat, shop, eat, shop, play, shop and if there’s any time leftover maybe we’ll use it to shop. ha!

I’ll be checking in on emails for anything urgent or pressing but for the most part won’t be doing much correspondence until I’m back in the office so that I can try to enjoy some real family time.   Oh and if anyone’s ever been to Vancouver you’ll know that it’s got the best sushi you can get outside of Japan.  I’m planning on eating enough of it to last me through the winter 😉

I’ll sign off with a new fave shot of me and my little man~  he’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself 😉

Kathy Wow….he is beautiful, but so is his Mom. You are such an amazing artist, your pictures are so beautiful.

lazy summer days

Sometimes they’re still long enough for me to catch the perfect moments. (Most) other times I chase them around for an hour as they dodge me like the plague.  I’ll let you guess how these were taken 😉  It’s so worth it though~  I encourage you to pick up your camera constantly and strive to capture these moments… they’re so fleeting.

Oriana I am beyond ecstatic that we get to work with you on our wedding day 🙂 These are unbelievable?!

karen & aaron: engaged

What do you get when you take 3 fabulous wedding dresses, one stylin’ couple and a trendy, hip new restaurant in Vancouver?  A photographer’s dream photo shoot!!  This was an epic engagement session that was conceptualized months ago when our bride Karen told us that she was inspired to do a “Sex and the City- style” shoot…  Cheryl and I looked at each other like we had just struck every girl’s lottery and so the planning began!  We had the great fortune to be given private access to the super stylish Bao Bei Restaurant which, as you’ll see in these shots, is decorated with tons of whimsy and character.  Karen and Aaron rocked it, bringing so much love and style and we really had such an amazing time photographing their story.  This was no ordinary couple and certainly no ordinary engagement shoot!  Picking favorites was not an easy thing to do so be sure to check out the fun slideshow at the bottom of this post.

Did I mention I love the shoes?  In fact, if they were my size I may not have been able to resist slipping them in my bag… I’m just sayin’  😉

Dress #2~ a gorgeous greek goddess style gown… be still my heart!

Oh how much I loved these chairs and wished I could have brought them back to Edmonton with me!!

How stunning is Karen in this shot?  love.

Karen & Aaron, you guys have set the bar HIGH for our future engagement sessions!!  Thanks for putting in so much thought and effort into making this such an amazing shoot and we hope you feel like it was all worth it for these pictures!  Can’t wait for your big day that’s coming up so soon!
