So I was watching the Oscars the other day and somewhere in between playing Fashion Police and wondering why the last movie I’d seen was the ever-so-esteemed Twilight New Moon… I realized something. Being a presenter at the Oscars is a lot like being the second shooter at a wedding. Not following me? Well basically you get to go, have fun and do what you love but you don’t have the pressure that goes along with being nominated, or in my case, being the primary photographer! So on that thought, I decided to go through my archives from this past summer and post some pictures from a wedding I had shot for my good friend Sharon as her second shooter. I especially love how second shooting allows me to really stretch my creative legs as a photographer and work on finding cool angles and perspectives while Sharon is busy getting all the “key shots”. Here’s some pictures from Shannon & Jay’s beautiful wedding.
As per Chinese tradition, the bridesmaids were barricading the door and not allowing Jay and his groomsmen to come in until they passed a series of obstacles. Money is almost always among the list of demands! 😉
Unfortunately for Jay, the money was the LEAST of his worries! Check out the snazzy outfit they specially picked out for him!
Having to ingest strange and disgusting food combinations is always my favorite to watch! Jello in soy sauce? Wasabi covered chocolates? bon appetit!!!
After the ceremony, the bridal party was famished so we made a pit stop to Booster Juice before hitting up a bunch of cool spots for photos.
I LOVE the how the colors pop in this shot of the bridal party. The fuchsia was a beautiful choice!
Do these girls know how to work it, or what?? Gorgeous!
Shannon & Jay are so lucky to have such great friends. They really knew how to have fun and were so caring and supportive all day long.
I can never resist snapping a couple shots of Cheryl and Sharon in action throughout the day.
Then Jay’s friends decided they had their own ideas for photos…
LOVE this shot. They both just looked so beautiful.
Hi, I’m Shannon and I’m gorgeous! Ain’t no thang.
This was HANDS DOWN my favorite shot from the whole day. It was shot through a modern art statue on the street.
sigh– all these summer photos are making me crave warm weather. Can’t wait for wedding season to start up again soon! I do believe that’s when Twilight Eclipse is coming out too 😉 haha
