jessica & sean: engagement sneak peek

Jessica and Sean make you feel instantly at ease and welcome– like you’ve known them since elementary school!  Shooting their Vancouver e-session felt less like work and more like hanging out with some old friends.  Here are a few teasers from their shoot where they rocked it out like old pros.

Jessica and Sean, you guys said that you don’t have a single good photo of yourselves–  Well, this photo session will definitely change that!

Check back soon for more from their e-session!

my latest project: baby!

As many of our clients this year have already witnessed, I’ve been waddling my way through shoots and will be due to deliver near the end of December (and no we weren’t TRYING to have a Christmas baby!  This thought actually freaks me out a little! haha) 2009 has been an amazing year for Katch Studios.  Between Cheryl having her first little baby boy Dax, to me expecting a sibling for Aaliyah, to all the awesome friends/clients we’ve had the pleasure of working with– at the risk of sound totally cheezy– it’s been an embarrassment of riches.

So what does my current state of preggers mean?  Well, I just wanted to give everyone some info on what’s going to happen in the coming months.  As of right now, we’re fully booked up until the end of this year and then I’m going to be taking a 3 month maternity leave so I can enjoy some solid bonding time with Baby Gill #2 (that’s his working name for now ha!).  This means that we’re not going to be taking on ANY new sessions until April at the earliest.  For now, we’ve got a WAIT LIST going for anyone that’s interested in booking a session for the Spring (or after) so if you’re down, just drop us an email with some basic info on the kind of session you’re looking to do and we’ll begin contacting people sometime in February to begin booking dates.

Alright now that all that business is out of the way, here’s some more of our favorite shots from our own Maternity/Family shoot with the always AWESOME Sharon Litchfield, who’s not only one of the most kick ass photographers I know, but also one of the greatest friends a gal could ask for!  She generously shot the pictures but let me edit them (the perks of having friends that are photographers) After much planning around our busy schedules we finally picked a date to go out and do this shoot, but alas, luck was just not on our side.  From the dreadfully cloudy, gloomy cold weather, to the cranky and frozen 18 month old kid (Aaliyah)… we really had our work cut out for us!  Luckily, we still managed to get some pretty sweet shots out of it and in the end no one suffered from any frost-bitten digits 😉

Here’s Aaliyah distracted by my ring– it served to stop her crying for a little while…  😉

Luckily she’s very ticklish and loves to give kisses, as I can assure you she was pouting immediately before and after we snapped these shots!  We had to pull out ALL our tricks!!

OK so I’m evil and get a kick out of this picture.  That’s her trying to tell us she’s not in the mood for modeling!

Then we gave up and I decided to ditch my cranky daughter with my hubby for a solo shoot!

HUGE shout out must go to Sharon for taking these~  Thank you SO MUCH for capturing this moment in time for us.  We love the pictures and we love you!!!  Does this mean I can expect you to take pictures for me in the delivery room???  (kidding!!)

Lindsay What a gorgeous pregnant lady!!! So cute. Love these family shots.

happy halloween

And of course my favorite little cheerleader Aaliyah!  Since it’s always my mission to make home-made costumes, this one was made from an old dress, some blue ribbon and a hot glue gun.

And here’s some pictures from my neice’s 2nd birthday party which was held yesterday on Halloween.  Great times were had by all!

Lions were a popular choice 🙂

Hope you all had a great Halloween too!
